Work it Girl!
My girls were visiting my mom and dad in NC all last week, so naturally I was excited!
Mainly because I was going to be able (in my head) to do ANYTHING I wanted to. Of course, I still had their brother, who at the time I still called “my sweet little baby”.
We were going to go shopping and go to the pool and I was going to blog a lot and we were going to relax.
NOPE!!!!
I should probably back up and tell you that we decided to put our house on the market on July 1st mainly because the walls were starting to close in on us. When you have 3 children and your house is tiny and the noise in it echoes like you are in the Grand Canyon and your blood pressure starts to get dangerously high as a result………. IT’S TIME TO MOVE!!!
Problem was, in our area, if you move down the road, you are practically in another school district. Since I didn’t want the girls to have to change schools and neither did they, we figured we would be sitting still for a while longer.
However,
Mr. Opportunity came a knockin!
Our good friends who literally lived down the same street, and who have a much bigger house than ours, decided to drop the price of their home and WE POUNCED! They were even sweet enough to make our offer contingent on us selling our house first. (which practically doesn’t happen now a days giving our economy right now)
We put our house on the market and THE DAY I get back from dropping my girls off at their Nana and Pop Pop’s, we got an offer and now I have to pack.
Which, by the way I am TOTALLY over already and cannot stand! Did I mention I have only packed one box? Oh well….. Atleast we are only moving down the street.
The Point is….
I DIDN’T get to anything I wanted!
I DIDN’T get to go shopping!
I DIDN’T get to go to the pool!
I DIDN’T get to blog AT ALL!
And the little boy who I USED TO CALL “sweet little baby” has now been renamed to “LITTLE DEMON CHILD!”
HOWEVER!……
I did manage to go and get a quick hair cut that I have been obsessing over for a while now. I finally took the plunge and did it!
“D.J.! Drop that beat!”

“Brave”n it Pizza style!
The girls and I went and saw the new Pixar movie “Brave” the other day. I’m not sure who was more excited about seeing it? Them or myself? I have to say, it did not disappoint at all. It was worth every cent!
After we got home, we were feeling very inspired. Since we had planned on making pizza anyway, we decided to make our very own “Merida” creations.
Here is what we did:
I gave the kids their own mini pizzas with mozzarella and mini pepperonis. › Continue reading
Tutu wearin Alligators
Today, as I was cleaning my house, I could hear the irritating noise pleasant sound of my children playing at the top of their voices. As I started to tune them out and proceed with “my daily chores”, I felt a tug on my shirt.
I burst into laughter because of what I saw.
I instantly went back in time to my childhood where my brother’s two “loving” older sisters would “lovingly” dress him up in anything from our Easter crinolines to our princess crowns and play make up. (SORRY WAYNE!)
However,
In these parts, apparently “TUTU WEARIN ALLIGATORS” are the dress code. › Continue reading
Getting along and not losing any hair in the process!
This summer has been kind of tough for me “creativity wise”. I was very ambitous the week before school let out for the summer. I had all these great plans. I was going to get craft supplies, I was going to get organized, and I was going to figure out ways to MAKE my children get along and not fight.
I am already losing hair from the constant bickering back and forth and the screaming. We are only the second week in and I was figuring that if things kept going at this pace, I would be completely bald before the end of the summer!
This is usually how it goes. Kid #1 starts yelling and complaining about Kid #2 licking her. Then Kid #1 slaps Kid #2. Then Kid #2 slaps Kid #1 back. Then Kid #3, who is going through his “flashing” stage, decides it would be a good idea to run around the house showing parts of him that shouldn’t be shown.
I finally cracked and said to myself, “SELF! We are going to the craft store and buying some stuff!”
So, self and self’s offspring piled up in the car and headed out. I went without a plan. Just grabbing anything and everything that I thought would work. Probably would have been better to go WITH a plan because taking a 3, 6, and 8 year old to the craft store is like taking them to Disney World.
“Mom! Can we get this?” “Mom! Can we get that?” “MOM!” “MOM”! “MOM!”
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
Anyhoo! I got out the door for about $80 and after I forced the uncontrollable urge to throw up from price shock back down, we walked to the car and headed home.
Getting home was chaotic at first. They seriously wanted to do every craft we bought within the first 5 minutes of being home. After they realized they were going to lose that war, they settled down and we finally came up with a game plan.
We will try to do atleast one craft a day and hopefully mommy won’t have to spend $80 a week on crafts, resulting in financial ruin. › Continue reading
