NEVER FORGET!
“I remember what I was doing the day the Twin Towers fell” is usually how the conversation starts this day every year.
However, not for me. Not today.
Rather, mine would go something like, ” I remember where I was when I was so moved, that I stopped my car on the side of the road at an overpass and started to take pictures.”
I saw this man, standing alone on top of the overpass with just the American Flag to keep him company.
He hardly spoke, but he didn’t have to. The symbol for which he stood for there on that overpass said enough.
He gave me a simple yes to my question when I asked him if I could take his picture. › Continue reading
I scream! You scream! We all scream for COFFEE!!!
Decorating has been on my mind as of lately.
Well, ok. It’s ALWAYS on my mind. Wish it weren’t, but it is.
Thanks to lovely Pinterest, I just did a cool coffee station in my dining room. One of my good friends “pinned” it to one of her boards and I just had to do it in my own house.
Having a coffee station allows you to free up much needed counter space. I have a Bunn coffee maker, so it sticks really far out and it really only worked in one place on my counters.
This is my version. (I know the shelf is off center, so I fixed it. Just wasn’t smart enough to post another pic reflecting that).
I snagged this cabinet at Homegoods. I had seen it one day and told myself that if I went back a few days later and it was there, I would get it. Anybody who has been to a Homegoods knows that you can go there, fall in love with something, and then go back an hour later and it’s GONE! They have such great deals on things, that they fly out of the store. Especially furniture pieces.
I love it because not only can I put my coffee there, but now I have a spot for my wine.
This bottle looks lonely right now, but soon she will have lots of friends to play with. : ) › Continue reading
Buster Buttons!
I thought I would take a minute and introduce a new family member of ours to you. He came to us by chance. A sweet family that unfortunately couldn’t have pets in their new home, gave him to us and we have been smitten ever since.
I never thought I would get another dog after the ones we have had in the past. (a.k.a. before kids!)
However, my heart has melted.
Without further adieu, allow me to introduce……. HELGA! Our new German Nanny!
I mean, BUSTER! Our new Pug! : )
See Buster take a nap! › Continue reading
Change:
can be good. Change can be very good.
For instance: My husband is very glad we changed from cable to satellite so that he can finally get his NFL Sunday ticket……
(This is how NFL Sunday tickets make him feel.)
Change, however, can make you tired. (Like in my case)
(This is exactly how I feel). Moving has definitely kicked my toosh! › Continue reading
